The Red Anthurium is an eye-catching plant with its long-lasting and bright “flowers.” These flowers, which are actually a modified leaf called a bract, surround a spike of tiny flowers and are one of the main appealing aspects of this plant. The dazzling color of this plant can last in your home for months, and with proper care it will continually produce new bracts and flowers.

Originally found in areas of the Andes Mountain range in Columbia and Ecuador, these beauties enjoy a warm, bright spot with indirect light. The Red Anthurium will lend a tropical flair to your space all year round.

  • Light: Low to bright indirect.
Water: Water your Anthurium when 50% of the soil volume is dry. Water until liquid flows through the drainage hole at the bottom of the pot and discard any water that has accumulated in the saucer. Overwatering causes yellow leaf tips and underwatering causes brown leaf tips.
Humidity: Your Anthurium loves a humid environment. Mist frequently or use a pebble tray or humidifier during the winter months when the air is dry.
Temperature: Your Anthurium prefers average to warm temperatures between 65-80°F. Avoid temperatures below 60°F. Keep your plant away from drafty areas and open vents.
